Meeting your family's needs

Masmeyer Holdings managing director Datuk Choo Beng Kai is always delighted to see prospective homebuyers walking into his company’s offices and showrooms with their parents on one side and their little children on the other.

“As property developers, we want our project to be the place of hopes and dreams for families.

“When our projects draw earnest buyers who bring their extended family members to see the property they intend to buy, it is the sign that we have successfully created something that fits their needs. It is a sign that we have done a good job,” smiled Choo.

He contrasted this against property investors who may come and snap up several units at one go with the intent of selling the property at a higher price later.

“While we do not stop investors, our favourite kind of customers will always be the earnest homeowner.”

Choo said when homeowners buy majority of the units in a development, the long-term benefits could be far-ranging.

“The social value and sense of belonging of the location will raise manifold after everyone moves in. The residents will care for the immediate environment and it will evolve into a positive community.

“So as property developers, our ultimate aim is to design something that is worthy enough for earnest homeowners.”

Choo, who founded Masmeyer Holdings in 2002, has spearheaded joint venture projects with a total gross development value of RM410mil.

The company’s latest offering is Marinox Sky Villas in Tanjung Tokong, Penang, which is a seaview luxury condominium that will be featured in Star Property Fair 2014 at Gurney Plaza and the adjoining G Hotel from July 24 to 27, from 10am to 10pm.

“There are only 30 units left and we’ll be offering them to home owners at the fair,” said Choo.

Less than 2km from Tesco Tanjung Tokong and Straits Quay, the remaining units offer either a view of the emerald green expanse of the northern Penang Channel or the low-rolling hills of Tanjung Bungah and skyline of Gurney Drive and Pulau Tikus.

Each unit ranges from 1,260sq ft to 2,960sq ft and costs about RM780 per sq ft. They are scheduled for completion in 2016.

Choo also said Marinox Sky Villas is the first high-rise development in Penang to be certified the ‘Green Building Index Provisional Gold Rating’.

“We incorporated many environmental-friendly features into Marinox so that it epitomises sustainability.”

He said the features included energy and water-saving capabilities, a healthy indoor environment, better connectivity to public transport and the adoption of recycling and greenery features.

Now into the 12th year, Star Property Fair is the grandest property showcase in the northern region, and various local and foreign real estate opportunities will be featured.

There will also be talks and forums conducted by specialists in their respective fields, to provide visitors with useful information on various property-related topics. The event partner is Zeon Properties Sdn Bhd.

Admission is free and visitors stand a chance to win iPad Minis, Samsung tablets, mountain bikes and gift vouchers daily, by taking part in the Dip & Win Property Fair contest, sponsored by Ivory Properties Group Bhd.
