The progress of this condo is 'si pek kin'(damn fast). Dunno would it be good in terms of quality. Is it that each floor has their own swimming pool? Any comment if this is a good investment? =)

Even if it leaks also nevermind, you see ar, all the swimming pool is at the same location, if upstairs leaks, it will filled up the downstair's swimming pool. Just take it as swimming in the rain lor. no big deal. =)

Home buyers ALERT!! Serious foundation failure has occured at 8Gurney..The building is tilting even it is not even half build yet..According to my reliable source, the developer is trying to save the building by install extra piles. But none of them are sure about this method will work as the condition of tilting is serious and somemore the it is only half way built. imagine what would happen if it is going to rise further. Home buyers pls pay attention as you happen to pass by there..the floor construction already stop and soon you will see the piling machine move in for the work said above. Beware...

How to install extra piles when the foundation already finished?? I believe they are trying to pour in more concrete into the floor slab BUT by doing this extra weight incurred to the foundation so finger cross buyers hopefully they can resolve this in the next few days time!
Hi, extra piles can be "underpinning", which is common method to save old building or for upgrading the load capacity of foundation. Thsi method saved the block behind citibank sometime ago. About more than 25 years ago, there was this "Northan Court" apartment tilted during construction (location someshere MBF Tower or Menara BHL ), & it was demolished! This area is blessed with very soft marine clay and method of construction has to be considered properly. To rescue the building, if it is really tilted, can be done but at what cost? That is the question. SInce the property has been sold out (if my info is accurate), developer should be able to put in $ for the rescue work. In 30 years ago, apartment can hardly be sold out, then demolish could be a cheaper option.

hi guys, is it true that middle eastern investors bought up most of the units? Heard that some deep excavation beside this structure has affected the integrity of some of the piles thus causing the settlement. Not sure how reliable is this news. Anyone has latest clue. But if middle east buyers, the it is not so bad. They are filthy rich....it's only between them and CA Goh.
No worry la, a block of centra park experienced similar issue and "retified" by foreign expertised. Common for CA Goh project. Risk & return, fair game.

I heard from a buyer that they are going to pull down the entire condo because they have exhausted all methods to prevent the building from sinking further. How true is this?

I dun think so they will demolish entire condo for 8 Gurney bcoz some of the contractor are doing the finishing for lower level.
Developer already stop work for nearly three(3) months and they wasted a lot of $$ to rectify the problem!
So, will it solve?
Stop work on the main building and now the smaller building also stop work. Some rescue work at ground level trying to put in more concrete pile?? Gonna be kidding. ...adding just a few chopstick with a dydrolic pile presser to save the building...haha good luck
Look again carefully, there workers on the top floor putting up frame works on the next level.
I remember that Gurney Paragon also have similar problem several months ago. But its rectified.

The developer has started to stack on more floors. The developer will provide a letter from his engineer Arup Consulting Engineers to say that the building is safe so that the developer can claim progressive payment. No further details will be provided. How to trust the consulting engineer whose work caused the settlement problem? On the other hand, authority has been very quiet on the whole matter while Paragon's problem was made public and the developer's boss Dr Khor made appearance to assure the public that action has been taken and the building is safe. In this case the developer CA Goh has been silent nor he met up the buyers to give them some kind of explanation ( which he owes to the buyers and the public ). So be careful for his next projects...
Who will be liable to compensate the buyers if the building is declared not safe to stay (after the property has been handed over to buyers)?
The developer is liable. The developer will probably sue the consulting engineers but legal proceeding is a long process. The developer is a 200,000.00 ringgit company. You can imagine the consequence.
Ground settlement will take some time to surface. It will be too late by the time you find the buillding is tilting. The developer rushes to stack more floors so he can start asking for progressive payment. So it is better to pull the buyers together to seek MPPP to look into th root cause of the problem and what the developer has done to rectify the problem. Also they are talking of a few points of the foundation having settlement problem. How about other points of foundation? Lots of questions not answered.

For new investor, Why buy a tilted condo for this price?? If one can afford 2mil, there are plenty of other options. A broken mirror wl leave a scar no matter how u fix it...in other words it won be perfect quality, not worth the risk & tat justifies why it's d cheapest super condo.
