The month-long registration drive for folk interested in buying Penang’s low-cost housing units has ended with around 17,000 applications.
There was also an exhibition held together with the registration effort at Level 3, Komtar.
Besides Komtar, the registration and exhibition were also carried out at Seberang Prai Municipal Council headquarters in Bandar Perda, Bukit Mertajam.
However, those who missed out could still apply, said Penang Town and Country Planning, Housing and Arts Committee chairman Wong Hon Wai.
He said that although the registration period had expired, those interested could still obtain the forms during office hours from the state Housing Department counter at Level 3 of Komtar or at the Penang Development Corporation headquarters in Bayan Baru.
Alternatively, go online and download the form from http://erumah.penang.gov.my.
The just concluded one-month exhibition and registration of interest were reserved mostly for the proposed affordable housing projects in Jalan S.P. Chelliah and Bandar Cassia in Batu Kawan.
The registration will cover all five districts on the island and mainland.
The other locations are Teluk Kumbar, Ampang Jajar, Kampung Jawa and Bukit Mertajam. - By The Star
