The well-planned freehold development on a 32ha plot of land opposite Bandar Putra Bertam will be developed in three phases, and when completed, it will have nearly 1,000 houses.

Hunza Group managing director Khor Siang Gin said the first phase of the development, which will be launched in June, will have 253 units of single-storey semi-detached houses and two types of single-storey zero lot bungalows.

“There will be 80 units of ‘Milla’ semi-detached houses with 1,381sq ft of built-up space and 2,637sq ft of land area and five corner units for the zero-lot bungalows.

“There will also be 99 and 69 units of ‘Sonia’ and Zinnia zero-lot bungalows with a built-up area of 1,643sq ft and 1,760sq ft, and a land area of 2,885sq ft and 3,068sq ft respectively.

“Prices for the semi-detached houses starts from RM400,000 while the zero-lot bungalow units start from RM460,000 and RM500,000 respectively,” he told reporters after launching the show village on Monday.

Khor added that the groundwork started early this year and they were now waiting for the advertising permit and developer licence (APDL) which will be obtained soon.

“We are aiming to sell 70% of the units within the first six months.”

All houses will feature high-ceiling designs to reduce heat and promote ventilation and the bathrooms fitted with quality sanitary ware.

Surrounded by a garden, the single-storey zero lot bungalow has an opening on three sides of the house, allowing maximum ventilation and lighting and at the same time ensuring privacy as there’s no opening from the units nearby.

Various public amnesties such as the Vision Park, Penang Golf Resort and a mini Putrajaya — a federal administrative centre housing various of key government agencies, are also nearby.

To date, Hunza has developed more than 3,000 houses and a hypermarket in Bertam and there’s another 108ha of land in the area to be developed in future.

Also present during the launching was Hunza Group founder-cum-advisor Datuk Seri Khor Teng Tong, Hunza Group executive director Khor Tze Ming, Hunza Group directors Datuk Syed Mohamad Syed Murtaza and Datuk Ismail Mamat, and Star Media Group Bhd regional operations (north) general manager Simone Liong.

On July 16, Bertam will beholding a mega concert in conjunction with the Hari Raya celebration at the Mekarsari Show Village from 6pm to 10pm.

The concert will feature celebrities such as Harith Iskander, Dayang Nurfaizah and Akim & The Majistret band.

It is open to the public and entry is free.
