Suiwah Corp Bhd said it has not submitted an official bid for the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) land in Air Hitam, Penang, amid speculation that it is one of the possible bidders for the property.
It was reported that 1MDB had opened the sale of the land through a request-for-proposal exercise.
“The company wishes to clarify that the company didn’t tender (for) such a project,” Suiwah said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.
StarBiz had on Monday reported that several companies have put in bids for the 94.7-ha land in Air Itam, which 1MDB paid RM1.06bil or RM104 per sq ft for in 2013.
The current valuation by CH Williams for the property without vacant possession is RM130 per sq ft or RM1.325bil. - The Star
