Taman Free School flat owners can expect to receive their strata titles soon.
Datuk Keramat assemblyman Jagdeep Singh Deo said the titles would be issued once the Land Office gives the green light.
“All requirements have been met and I will urge the Land Office to expedite the issuanceof strata titles for Taman Free School,” he said after the launching of new lifts for blocks L, M and N at the Taman Free School flats in George Town on Saturday.
Jagdeep Singh, however, could not tell exactly when the titles could be ready.
The lifts at the three blocks have been upgraded by the Penang Island City Council (MBPP) and can now stop at all six floors. Previously, the lifts stop at every second floor.
The lift upgrade took four months and cost RM318,000.
Jagdeep Singh said MBPP would also be allocating funds to replace the flats’ squat toilets with toilet bowls and install CCTVs in the lifts next year. - By The Star
