IJM Land Berhad has made it into the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) for being the ‘First Marine Ecosystem in a Residential Precinct’ for its Waterways at The Light Waterfront project in Penang.
IJM Land managing director Edward Chong Sin Kiat received the achievement certificate from MBOR’s general manager Helilia Juana Hashim.
The event was witnessed by about 150 media practitioners and IJM Land staff in Penang during the IJM Land Berhad Media Appreciation Night 2015.
Helilia said MBOR had taken about five months to process the endorsement before its officials verified it.
“The Waterways features corals and marine animals such as sharks, stingray and various types of fishes. This is the first of its kind in a residential project in the country.
“Therefore, IJM Land Berhad has created the record under the building and structure category, which is one of the 11 categories in the Malaysia Book of Records,” she said, adding that the MBOR had to date recorded more than 4,000 achievements.
Helilia said IJM Land’s feat would be included in the MBOR’s Coffee Table Book which would be launched on Sunday during MBOR’s 20th anniversary celebration.
During the appreciation dinner, Chong thanked the media for the support given.
“I hope that our good working relationship will continue,” he said.
Chong also briefed the media about the company’s upcoming projects such as The Light Waterfront Phase Two in Gelugor, Trehaus in Bukit Jambul, Permatang Sanctuary in Permatang Tinggi, Senjayu in Jawi, Pantai Sentral Park in Bukit Kerinchi, Bandar Rimbayu township near Kota Kemuning, DeBunga Residensi in Ampang, Shah Alam 2 township in Bandar Puncak Alam, Seremban 2 township in Seremban, Seri Binjai in Rahang (Seremban), Austin Duta in Johor Baru, Sebana Cove in Johor, Bandar Utama in Sandakan (Sabah) and Riverine Diamond in Kuching (Sarawak).
