The Seberang Prai Municipal Council (MPSP) would have the details of the new satellite town in Batu Kawan ready in a month’s time.

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said the new satellite town would be larger than the present Batu Kawan township and would include the neighbouring areas.

“The name Batu Kawan will still remain as the MPSP is now mapping out the various components and the demarcations for the satellite town.

“This is just a new creation that will consist of Aspen Vision City, The Penang Design Village and universities,” he added.

Lim was speaking at a groundbreaking ceremony of Aspen Vision City in Batu Kawan.

Also present were Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon, state executive councillor Chow Kon Yeow, Aspen Group chairman Datuk Seri Nazir Ariff and Aspen Group chief executive officer Datuk M. Murly.

“An announcement will be made in a month’s time on the details of the new satellite town.

“We will also conduct an online public poll to try finding an appro-priate name for the town,” Lim said. - By The Star
