Building rapport through charity

Delicious street food and exciting games greeted visitors to GSD Land’s Charity Grand Funfair held at its Gardens Ville development in Sungai Ara, Penang.

Long queues formed at stalls of a dozen different vendors as the crowd, made up of the company’s customers and the public, went around trying out the tasty grub.

Tummies filled, they headed to the interactive games stall to try their luck at winning prizes or snap mementos at a photo booth.

At the development’s clubhouse, those old and young alike were entertained with magic shows, dance performances and lucky draw sessions.

Some took the opportunity to view the mock-up condominium and terrace units, or check out the mini showcase of GSD Land’s other ongoing and upcoming projects.

The recent event was held in celebration of the company receiving Certificates of Completion and Compliance (CCC) for Gardens Ville, as well as the nearby Sierra Residences and Ara Greens.

The company’s project planning and development director Lee Ham Kong said it was the first time they had received the CCC for three projects at the same time.

Besides throwing a party to thank their loyal buyers, the company also wanted to give back to the community.

Lee announced that all proceeds from the funfair would be donated to SJK (C) Kwang Hwa for it to enhance its facilities for pupils.

He was later joined by GSD Land business development and strategy planning general manager Cheng Swee Im, marketing and credit administration director Tan Chin Chua, in unveiling a backdrop to mark the occasion.

Two of their property purchasers, company director Ching Choo Peng and insurance firm regional manager Wallace Tan, were also invited on stage to take part in the proceedings.

Ching, who bought a unit at Gardens Ville for investment, said he liked the development’s good location within a mature township, and excellent lifestyle facilities.

Tan, who invested in Sierra Residences, is yet undecided whether to use the unit for his own stay or let it out.

The upscale Gardens Ville comprises a 29-storey tower block with 476 condominium units, alongside 19 terrace homes and 22 shoplots. Limited bumiputra release units are still available.

The similarly high-end Sierra Residences has 323 condos in a 31-storey tower, with 18 shop offices at its podium.

Meanwhile, the affordable Ara Greens development comprises 414 units in a 32-storey tower block.

GSD Land’s other ongoing projects in Penang include the Skycube Residence and Venti, both also in Sungai Ara.

In Kuala Lumpur, there is an upcoming high-rise in Titiwangsa that is now open for registration.

The developer is offering special home-ownership packages, as well as introducer-buyer incentives for selected projects. - By The Star
