Developers report excellent sales and good response to their projects


Penang and Kuala Lumpur-based developers closed deals worth RM67.7mil during the four-day Star Property Fair 2015 held at the Sunway Carnival Mall and Sunway Convention Centre in Seberang Jaya.

Those with the most sales included IJM Land Bhd (RM15mil), Mah Sing Group Bhd (RM10mil), Tambun Indah Land Bhd (RM10.7mil), DNP Land Sdn Bhd (RM8mil), Tropicana Ivory Sdn Bhd (RM12mil), Iconic Development (RM7mil) and Bionic Land Bhd (RM5mil).

IJM Land sales and marketing Patsy Lee said the response to the group’s projects was good.

The Address in Bukit Jambul and Permatang Sanctuary in Bukit Mertajam contributed to our sales.

“These projects attracted the attention of buyers as they are strategically located and the pricing is competitive.

“The Address duplex units are priced at RM1.7mil each and the Permatang Sanctuary landed homes are from RM700,000 each.

“We also took some of the buyers to view our Trehaus project in Bukit Jambul and Senjayu in Jawi,” she said.

Zeon Properties’ Leon Lee said the turnout for the past four days was satisfactory.

“We managed to sell 20 condominium units from Iconic Development and Bionic Land, locking in a total sales of RM12mil.

“The Iconic’s project Iconic Skies is in Relau and Bionic’s project The Prominence is in Jalan Baru, Butterworth.

“We have sold half of our Iconic Skies units priced from RM700,000 while The Prominence launched late last year is 70% sold.

“The price and location are key to the success of the two launches,” he said.

Mah Sing general manager Yeoh Chee Beng said the group generated sales from mainly residential and commercial units in Southbay Plaza and Trends@Southbay City.

“The price ranges from RM1.3mil for residential units to RM3mil for commercial lots. We are happy with the crowd,” Yeoh said.

Tropicana Ivory Sdn Bhd deputy general manager Anne Lee Li Chin said the group managed to rope in RM12mil worth of sales for the Tropicana Bay Residences project in Bayan Mutiara, which is about 40% sold out.

“The homes are competitively priced from RM500,000,” she said.

Other developers such as Sunway Bhd, SP Setia Bhd, Eco World and Ideal Property took in more than 2,000 registrations for their new projects.

Eco World general manager Khoo Teck Chong said the group secured over 1,000 registrations at the four-day property fair for the EcoTerraces in Paya Terubong and EcoMeadows in Batu Kawan.

“These projects will be launched in the middle of this year.

“We are confident of the demand in light of the response we have received so far.

“The pricing for EcoTerraces comprising condominiums will be from RM800 per sq ft while the EcoMeadows terraced houses will be sold from RM800,000,” he said.

Sunway senior general manager Tan Hun Beng said the group received over 400 registrations for Sunway Wellesley in Bukit Mertajam and Sunway Cassia projects located in Batu Maung.

Ideal Property general manager Nancy Teo said the group took in 430 registrations for the I-Santorini project in Tanjung Tokong.

Teo said the units would be priced around RM300,000 to RM400,000.

SP Setia (property north) sales and marketing manager Susie Loh said the firm had secured over 50 registrations for its RM330mil Setia Sky Vista project in Relau.

About 20,000 people attended the fair which ended yesterday.

Earlier, feng shui master Mak Foo Weng urged visitors to pay attention to the surroundings of their new property.

“Do not buy a home or shop near a graveyard, hospital, police station and even temple.

“These places will produce bad luck and absorb good energy,” he explained.

He said people should avoid units located at the end of streets or around a roundabout.

“These places will have the weakest feng shui attraction,” he said in his talk called ‘Internal and External Feng Shui’. - By The Star
