Eastern & Oriental Bhd has received the Penang State Department of Town and Country Planning’s approval to carry out its land reclamation off Penang island.
It said on Monday its unit Tanjung Pinang Development Sdn Bhd (TPD) had received the department’s planning permission for the reclamation under its master plan for phase 2 of Seri Tanjung Pinang.
“The planning permission approval is conditional upon, amongst others, TPD in due course surrendering 191.09 acres of reclaimed land to the Penang State government.
“Out of this, 110 acres thereof shall be the net area of land available for development made up of 60 acres on the man-made island and 50 acres at Persiaran Gurney,” it said.
E&O said with the approval in hand, TPD may now start reclamation works for Phase 2 of Seri Tanjung Pinang. - By The Star
